We are Boy Scouts of America Troop 731 located in Sugar Land, Texas. We are affiliated with the Sam Houston Area Council (Houston, Texas), the largest BSA Council in the United States, and we are chartered by the Exchange Club of Sugar Land. Our Troop meets on Monday nights at Highlands Elementary starting at 7:00 P.M.

October Campout - Webelos Woods

Sign up for the October campout at Camp Brosig has begun. The date of the event is Friday night October 24th and we will return on Sunday morning October 26th. As always, all adults attending must have a current Youth Protection Training certificate. We expect to have a number of Webelos scouts camping with us.

Troop Elections will be held at the troop meeting on Monday November 3rd at Highlands Elementary at 7pm. You will be electing your next Senior Patrol Leader and Patrol Leaders.
If you would like a leadership position in the troop then you must fill out the attached leadership commitment form, sign it, have your parents sign it, and give it to the scoutmaster at the next troop meeting. Make sure that you clearly mark what is your first choice, second choice and third choice of leadership position. Note that leadership training ILST (formerly TLT) will be held on Sunday November 9th from 5pm to 8pm. Both the new boy leader and the former boy leader need to attend along with the parents.
New BSA Medical Form for 2014

There is a new computer fillable medical form available for use for annual physicals. All scouts and scouters should start using this form as their current physicals expire. The new form is available by clicking the link in the title of this article, or by going the "Forms" section in the Downloads area.

First Class Emphasis Program for 2014

Welcome New Scouts! 2014 FCE Program Info A new scouting year is beginning and the First Class Emphasis Program would like to invite our new families to embark along the Trail to First Class. The program runs from February to December with a monthly Saturday session to help scouts learn the basic skills that will be essential to their monthly camping program as well as rank advancement. The 2014 calendar and annual information may be found on the troop website under the Downloads section in the First Class Emphasis Folder. Please preview these items and plan to attend Session #4 on May 10th from 12:00 - 3:00 pm at the First Colony Aquatics Center. Wear your swimsuit and be prepared to take the swim test.
Parents are requested to attend and become part of the "Parent Patrol" - we will have adult leaders available to answer questions and assist you in helping your scout get acquainted with the inner workings of our troop. Please start turning in your new applications at this time and begin attending the regular Monday troop meetings. We look forward to seeing all of you.

The next Troop PLC meeting will be on October 27th, 2014 at Highlands Elementary School. Youth leaders are required to attend.
The next ASM meeting will follow immediately after the PLC. The Troop Parents meeting will start at 8:00 pm.
